Combining differen transport modes in a single shipment for higher productivity and better terms is one of core competencies of Marpro Logistics since its establishment. Sea, railway and land transport modes are usually used in different combinations depending on cargo, origin and destination.
We use multimodal transport mainly for deliveries to/from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgizistan.
Import cargo to region arriving in container or in bulk is cross stuffed into railway wagons or trucks to proceed to final destination. Sometimes single delivery may include second cross stuffing where cargo cross stuffed from sea into rail wagons can be transferred to trucks for remote destinations. The same transport chain is reversed for export shipments from region.
Oversized and heavy project cargoes may involve more than 3 tansshipments, especially those planned for transit over Caspian Sea.
Best Multimodal transport is achieved with proper planning, main criteria for which is right choice of transport modes, their sequence and places of transshipments.
We are present at sea gateway to region with two offices in Poti and Batumi ports of Georgia which is main transshipment hub for multimodal transportations to/from Caucasus and Central Asia.
